On January 28, Cao Hailu, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the Chinese Medicinal Materials Planting and Breeding Committee of the Chinese Medicinal Materials Association, An Baixiu, Secretary-General of the Chinese Medicinal Materials Planting and Breeding Committee of the Chinese Medicinal Materials Association, Shi Jing, Director of Planting Management Department of Beijing Tongrentang Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd., Gao Qiguo, Base Director of Henan Tailong Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., and Yu Chuntao, Jiangsu Agricultural Technology Extension Center, and Yu Chuntao, went to Jiangsu to Jiangsu to investigate Atractylo, associate Professor Xiang Zengxu of the College of Horticulture accompanied the inspection.
Atractylodes lancea is a traditional authentic medicinal material in Maoshan and surrounding areas of Jiangsu Province. Due to mountain reclamation and excessive mining, coupled with the low fruit set rate of wild Atractylodes lancea and the depletion of wild resources, it is listed as a rare and protected plant at the provincial level, one of the four endangered medicinal plants in Jiangsu Province, and has not been commercially available for nearly 40 years. In 2018, Nanjing Frog Ming Agricultural Science and Technology Co., Ltd. and Xiang Zengxu's research group of our school reached a cooperation to jointly devote themselves to the recovery and development of Atractylodes lancea industry and solve the technical problems such as factory production, facility seedling cultivation and imitation wild cultivation of Atractylodes lancea. Up to now, more than 1300 mu of Atractylodes lancea imitation wild cultivation area has been developed.
At present, Atractylodes commodities are mainly from Hebei Chengde and other areas of the North Atractylodes. How to regain the status of Atractylodes lancea in the market and reflect its due commodity value is a problem facing the current industrial development. During the investigation, Cao Hailu spoke highly of the achievements of our school's cooperation with enterprises in the recovery of Atractylodes lancea industry, and gave suggestions on brand building, academic marketing, and series of standards. Yu Chuntao said that Atractylodes lancea is the business card of Jiangsu traditional Chinese medicine, and it is necessary to integrate the efforts of the government, high efficiency and enterprises to make the Atractylodes lancea industry bigger and stronger. Other experts attending the meeting also gave positive suggestions and opinions from various aspects such as enterprise needs.
